The Da Vinci Code is a majorly successful novel written by the US author Dan Brown. It was published in 2003 and has since been a major success. In 2004 it was only outsold by the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling. It is a worldwide bestseller which had 60.5 million copies in print by May 2006 and has been translated into 44 languages. It is thought to be the 19th best-selling book of all time. In 2006 the book was transferred to film and went on to become the second highest grossing movie of 2006
Angels and Demons is the prequel to the Da Vinci Code being released in 2000. The upcoming film adaptation of this book is directed by Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks who will again play Robert Langdon.
The movie was initially set to be released in December of this year, but its production has been delayed by the Writers Guild strike As a result the movie will be released later, on May 15, 2009.
Plot:

There were protests to the first movie, citing it as blasphemy and claiming that it shames both the Catholic Church, and Jesus Christ himself.
The church did not complain about the huge number of tourists the film generated to their churches.
